Today’s topic is Dice. Dice is an essential part of board games.
Dice like most of the injection toys, using mold and injection and painting.
1.Dice type
Resin Dice
Resin dice is more expensive than acrylic one, but there is no MOQ and cheaper mold. If you would like to make some special dice like three-layer,Speckled,Diffusion effect dice and so on.
Here are the process to make the resin dice and video attached also.
1. The main process is grouting, we pour the raw material to the silica case and make it even. If there is other layer, then you have to pour one by one.
2. Take out the dice
3.Watermill the surface
4.Painting or printing
5.polish
6. Pick and polish
Acrylic
For acrylic dice, it fits large quantities,for now, the factory bought a two-color injection machine to make the twirl dice.
1. Pour the raw material to the injection, the raw material is pure acrylic. And acrylic is a kind of material which is with small shrinkage, it will be better to control the dice size, shape and weight.
2. After injection, cool it then pick it.
3. Rough polish, put the dice into the grinding drum.
4. Painting, now we use the automatic painting machine, which could scan the face of one die and paint it. By the way, please make the dice files, especially the line minimum 3mm. Here are the reasons, good painting, and good effect. If the line is too thin, cant be painted in a good situation and it will make the dice look cheap. Silk printing, heat transfer are all in this step.
5.After painting, we use UV machine to make it dry,it could reduce the production time.
6.Then another polish,it helps to clear extra painting.
7.Last time, we will polish it again to make the dice shinier and in good size.
8.Pick and pack, we will not use the dice with bubble or swollen.
